For many years I believed that wealth was simply monetary and that was why I vowed to stay away from it. There was this belief that money didn’t equal happiness, and happiness was the most important thing in my life. There was also this belief that people with money weren’t good people, and now that I think about it, I am not too sure where that came from. Perhaps, from all the action movies as a kid where the villain was always powerful and wealthy. No one wanted to be like that guy! Nonetheless, many years later I realized that to survive in this economy you better have money, so I set out to get as much as I can and found that there was an issue. The issue was I had this old perception of money and wealth deeply rooted within me and I was simply unable to get a better job, attract more money, etc., therefore I had to change that and in the end the money came flowing.
I think many people are brought up the same way, with those same beliefs. However, once we realize that money is a magnifying glass, then we’ll see that money doesn’t make us good or bad, but it magnifies who we already are. You see, the definition of the word itself from the dictionary:
Wealth (n.) –
Once you realize that you deserve whatever it is that you want in abundance, then it will come to you.
So if you’ve ever felt as if money or the things your heart desired just eluded you and that the odds were not in your favor, take a step back and ask yourself “why?” Be reflective for a moment and analyze what is really happening.
I like to leave action steps so we can all progress forward, so here’s some steps I took to better my relationship with money and I know you can too:
- Believe. That. You. Deserve. Money. Big Money at that! Not only money, but whatever you desire! This is imperative. You have to know that you are capable of having whatever you want, no matter what.
- Interview or talk to someone who is doing well financially, preferably someone you can relate to. This will help change your image of wealth and help you identify with it as well.
- I interviewed dozens of 6 figure earners and I was blown away. I was amazed how ordinary they seemed and how humble most were, however their assets are far above average.
- Lastly, be attentive and grateful. Watch to see what opportunities come to you in regards to money, no matter how big or small and give thanks! Be grateful for these opportunities and especially for the money that you have now.
Those are some beginning steps that will definitely help you attract more wealth into your life. Like anything, this will take some practice. 21 days consistently and you will develop a new habit, which will ultimately build upon your character, and a new character builds a new destiny! Change your destiny and add wealth to the picture!
